- How big does my urn have to be?
When trying to figure out the size needed for pet ashes, urns are generally rated by the cu. in. (cubic inches) the vessel holds. Generally speaking, one can assume 1 lb. of body weight is equal to 1 cu. in. of cremains. So, 60 lbs body weight would require an urn of at least 60 cu. in.

Santanoni designs and produces a line of unique ceramic pet ashes memorials. We have developed a product that allows you to keep a tasteful and practical remembrance of your devoted pet after they have passed on.
Our memorials are composed in part of your beloved animals ashes. Sanatnoni takes a portion of your loved one's cremains and preserves them in a functional piece of ceramic art.
By preserving your pet in this manner you are left with a physical symbol of your love and remembrance. The process by which these objects are designed is an extensive and cooperative process, insuring the dignity and respect of you and the deceased. These commemorative items are specifically designed for you and your family to enjoy, making them as personal and individual as the adored pets in which they commemorate.

- What is terra cotta - stoneware - porcelain?
These are different clay types and firing temperatures. Generally, this is the temperature that the clay is fired to, in order to reach the desired "hardness".
All 3 use different types of clay.
- Terra cotta is generally noted for its red orange color and reaches its desired "hardness" at a relatively low firing temperature.
- Stoneware is generally noted for its flecks of brown in the glaze and reaches its desired "hardness" at a relatively medium firing temperature.
- Porcelain is generally noted for its white clay body color and reaches its desired "hardness" at a relatively high firing temperature.
- Why can't I get different sizes in terra cotta urns?
The terra cotta urns are different styles with different sizes. Until we create more styles, the size is dictated by the style that you choose. At this point in time the only custom sizes are in stoneware and porcelain.
