Each drink coaster is backed with rubber disks to protect your furniture from scratching. They are also dishwasher safe.

The relief carving, of the surface of the coasters, adds a beautiful unique touch as well as a very practical one. A flat coaster often sticks to the glass when you lift your glass for a drink. With the relief carved surface of the coaster, the moisture cannot create the suction needed, between the glass and the drink coaster, to lift it with the glass.

The unglazed ceramic coaster also allows moisture to be absorbed into the clay and not puddle and run off onto the table surface.
